Community of Practice Learning Outcomes

After completing this program, participants will: 

1. Understand the concept of social location and how it affects leadership style

2. Understand intersectionality and how to apply an intersectional framework to meet DEI  goals 

3. Understand how the intersection of race and disability oppression shapes the  experiences of Indigenous, Black and racialized people with disabilities (IBRpD)

4. Understand how the history of colonization has shaped the construction of race and  disability to create structural inequities 

5. Understand how this history impacts organizational policies today 

6. Understand cultural accountability 

And be able to apply this to: 

1. Analyze and improve organizational policies 

2. Build an inclusive environment using promising practices 

3. Apply inclusive internal and external communication strategies 

4. Communicate effectively with diverse communities 

5. Engage and build trust with Indigenous, Black and racialized communities

6. Navigate conflict resolution and repair harm or distrust 

7. Create feedback and evaluation processes to improve the outcomes of Indigenous, Black  and racialized people with disabilities
